Tattooed Heart

This is Ariana’s first tattoo, which she got in 2012 at the age of 18. It is a tattoo on the second toe of her right foot and shows the bold outlining of a heart. Ariana says she got this tattoo whilst working on her debut album Yours Truly, and is also inspired by the song “Tattooed Heart” (which was one of her favorite songs from the album).

Mille Tendresse

Ariana’s second tattoo was writing on the back of her neck. It was done on March 14, 2014, and reads the words ‘Mille Tendresse’. This is a line from the movie Breakfast At Tiffany’s, which is one of Ariana’s favorite movies and stars her idol, Audrey Hepburn.

Bellissima

’Bellissima’ is something that Frank Grande, Ariana’s grandpa, used to call her. It is tattooed on her left side near her chest. Ariana also got this tattoo on the same day some of her friends got their first, which she claims was a real “bonding experience”. It means «really beautiful»/»a really beautiful girl» in Italian.

Crescent Moon

Ariana announced that she had gotten a fourth tattoo on April 14, 2015. The tattoo is the outline of a crescent moon below her left ear. Her backup dancer and close friend Brian also got the same tattoo. It refers to the song “Moonlight”, off her third album Dangerous Woman.

Honeymoon

On April 16, 2015, (at Ariana’s meet and greet in Vancouver, Canada during The Honeymoon Tour) it was shown that Ariana had gotten two new small tattoos on her right fingers. It is a reference to her Honeymoon Tour and one of her personal favorite songs she’s ever recorded, “Honeymoon Avenue”. She said the song means so much to her because it’s a personal song and the events that occur in the song have happened to her in real life in a Q&A with Billboard in 2013.

The other tattoo (that she probably got at the same time as the honeymoon one) is a small Hebrew phrase on the side of her right ring finger. It is the tenth name in the 72 names of God which is spelled with the Hebrew letters aleph, lamed, and daled. The name «protects from the evil eye and bad dreams, and helps the rebirthing process.» This tattoo is a reference to Ariana’s faith which is Kabbalah.

Second Tattooed Heart

At Ariana’s show in Paris during The Honeymoon Tour on May 14, 2015, it was shown that Ariana had gotten another tattoo. It is a small outline of a heart on her right ring finger, similar to her first tattoo.

Hi (Covered)

On June 13, 2015, Ariana and Ricky Alvarez showed their new tattoos on Ariana’s Snapchat story (moonlightbae). They both joked about it, but the tattoo itself couldn’t be seen. On November 22, 2015, at the AMAs she was seen with a tattoo on her toe on her left foot. Ariana has since had this tattoo covered.

Babydoll

On January 14, 2016, Ariana posted a picture on Snapchat which showed she had gotten a tattoo on the inside of her finger which says «babydoll» in capital letters. This is said to be a nickname her Nonna uses for her.

Female/Venus Symbol

Ariana posted multiple pictures on her Instagram and Snapchat story on August 25, 2016, confirming she had gotten more tattoos, one of them being a small black outline of the female gender symbol on her left middle finger. She got this tattoo with her late boyfriend, Mac Miller.

On the same night as her female symbol tattoo, August 25, 2016, Ariana also got a tattoo of the letter A. Ariana explained on her Instagram and Snapchat that it was in reference to the first initial of longtime best friend, Alexa Luria, even though a lot of people thought she did it for her own name.

On May 22, 2017, Ariana’s Dangerous Woman Tour concert in Manchester was attacked by a suicide bomber. Ariana flew back to Boca Raton, Florida the next day. The One Love Manchester benefit concert took place two weeks later to raise money for the victims who died and were injured in the attack. On May 21, 2018, Ariana posted on her Instagram story, a selfie showing her new hand tattoo «Lumos».

Lumos is a charm and a light-creation spell from Harry Potter. It also means «light» in latin. [src]

Cloud

Ariana also has a cloud tattoo on her finger, which she got in May 2018 as a matching tattoo with her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson.

Court

On June 7, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram story showing the tattoo. It’s short for her friend, Courtney Chipolone, and is located on her knee (Court-Knee). On October 30, 2019, the tattoo was seen in an image of Ariana’s Halloween costume for that year. [6]

On June 18, 2018, Ariana posted a video on her Instagram story showing a new tattoo, «H2GKMO», an abbreviation of «honest to god knock me out». It’s a matching tattoo with her friends, as well as her now ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson, and is located on the side of her right hand.

Lightning Bolt

On June 22, 2018, Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram story showing a tattoo of a lightning bolt behind her right ear. The lightning bolt is most likely a reference to Harry Potter one of Ariana’s favorite books.

On June 22, 2018, Pete posted a photo of Ariana on Instagram, showing a tattoo on her rib cage, «always». The tattoo is written in Pete’s handwriting.

On December 17, 2019, Tommy Brown posted a photo on Instagram showing a new tattoo on Ariana’s right index finger, «SWT», the initials of her Sweetener World Tour.
